![]() ![]() ![]() You don’t need to get fancy with the names and you don’t need multiple entries of the movie showing up in Plex. They sit in the same folder as they always have, and they are named as follows: My alternate versions are showing up in Plex just fine. And it does, it just doesn’t show a label for the different versions. In any case the feature is labeled as a way to play alternate versions, a different cut is an alternate version, it’s a feature that has been requested for years, it should work for the use case I’m describing. I don’t understand why someone would have two different quality versions of the same cut of a film, especially with Plex’s transcoding ability. On top of that typically The Movie Database doesn’t acknowledges multiple versions unless its a rare one off like Richards Donners Superman II. This makes since but even then most movies don’t have multiple versions. Plus based on naming how would plex know its the same movie but different versions? I get there could maybe be a way the code could combine lets say a directors cut of the movie. Then I just edit the posters to reflect the movie.įor me sometimes even with same naming convention i see double versions of the movie instead of a numbered icon. Silver Screen - Star Wars - Silver Screen Edition 35mm Sort Title: Star Wars 4B Typically if i have multiples they are either duplicate or old DVD 480p versions.īlu Ray - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope Sort Title: Star Wars 4ĭespecialized - Star Wars a New Hope Despecialized Edition V2 5 Sort Tile: Star Wars 4A Star Wars is the only movie where I have multiple versions. Im sure the blank spaces will get fixed in a newer version. I think the whole point of multiple versions is the video quality and not actual name versions. ![]() ![]() Colorize your old black and white photos, alter facial expressions, or drastically edit your portraits.
